Tell us something about yourself:
I’m Flynn, 19 years old and very excited to be the new Chair of KNUS. In my free time (if I have any), I like theatre, singing, reading and gazing at the stars. I am doing a double major in the Dutch Track Algemene Cultuurwetenschappen and the bachelor English Language and Culture, but for this year I am all KNUS’s
What’s your favourite memory of the studies so far?
I have tried a plethora of different bachelors and the thing that stuck most with me in this study is the open character of all the people, professors and assignments; almost anything is possible.
What is your favourite place to go in Nijmegen?
Having lived in Nijmegen for my entire life, I have gathered many favourite spots, among them our local pub De Opstand and the beach at De Waal. I also like hanging around in many cafes for an iced coffee/tea.

Tell us something about yourself:
Hi, my name is Michelle, I’m 19 years old and I will be the Secretary of KNUS! I love baking and cooking, I’m especially a sucker for Italian food. But I also really enjoy watching movies, especially fantasy ones such as Lord of the Rings or Disney movies. Oh, I’m also somewhat addicted to playing the Sims 4.
What’s your favourite memory of your studies so far?
There’s many fun memories I’ve had in this studies so far, such as all the fun classes that we’ve had. I especially enjoyed watching movies in the LUX (it is one of my main hobbies after all) and listening to the jokes of our teachers. But the best part for me has definitely been meeting all the lovely people that have become my friends.
What is your favourite place to go in Nijmegen?
It’s hard to pick a specific place, but if I had to choose, I would go with the Lange Hezelstraat. It has so many cute stores and it’s just such a vibey street. And it has a lot of nice cafes or lunchrooms that I like to go to with my friends!

Treasurer
Nikki van Leeuwen (she/her)
Tell us something about yourself:
Hi! I’m Nikki, 20 years old (she/her), and I’ll be the Treasurer this year. I love bouldering, wich is climbing up to about 3.4 to 4 meters high with no ropes (just a bit of courage and a crash pad). I’m also really into creative stuff like making clothes, embroidering tote bags, and drawing. I’m a huge fan of (art) history too. Especially anything to do with Ancient Greece or the dramatic flair of the Baroque period. And of course, I’m always up for hanging out with friends, whether we’re shopping or sipping coffee at a cute and cosy café.
What’s your favourite memory of your studies so far?
So, in our History of Western Arts class about Romanticism, Roel Smeets decided to get personal and read one of his own poems he wrote when he was 18. And honestly? He got so into it, you’d think he was the next Byron or Shelley! It was pretty funny and kind of sweet watching him totally lose himself in his teenage poetic vibes right there in front of the class.
What is your favourite place to go in Nijmegen?
It’s probably gonna be De Derde Kamer down in the city center, a place that’sbasically a cosy hug in bar form. They’ve got these cushions that magically warm up just from your own body heat, so you never have to fight over who gets the warmest seat. The cocktails are pretty amazing, plus there’s plenty of other drinks to keep the good times rolling. For me, it’s the perfect spot to hang out with friends, but also great for a date.
